Natalie Kramar is a PhD in linguistics, a brilliant young scientist, an educator and also a colleague of mine:)
Honestly, I like all of her writings. They are deep, meticulously researched, and well-written.
One of her recent writings, “A Dictionary of English XXI Century Neologisms” is just plain awesome! Dr. Kramar has accumulated 1100 new words and phrases coined in 2000-2022, and categorized them within 18 (!) topics. Each entry contains a neologism with explanation, translation into Ukrainian, and an example, alongside the year of its appearance and registration in the Oxford English Dictionary.
The book definitely shows that times are changing, and the English language is ready to embrace the new trends in its evolution. I would recommend it to anyone who loves the beauty and truth, truth and beauty of a word.
You can find the dictionary online (the links are listed below). Enjoy!
